Remember the thing with Chuuya, where he said that she punched through a wall and then threatened him?

She said none of that happened. I mean, I guess there’s a chance he could be lying, but I think she stands to gain more by convincing people it didn’t actually happen.

Yeah, she told me he blew things out of proportion. [a beat.] She had to be a little honest with me, since I knew she cursed me 'cause she was pissed off at him, and it'd probably look worse if instead she claimed to have done that for no reason.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but at least it was just glitter.

On the other hand, surprisingly, you can say just about anything to Cunning and he won’t curse you. Probably.

It has its ups and downs. For now, it means he's willing to be useful to me.

Ruin likes me too, and I'd rather be on her good side than bad.

As you long as you don’t bank on that. He wouldn’t go out of his way to curse you, but that doesn’t mean he’d care at all if anything did happen to you.

I mean, there’s the obvious reasons like how he’s fine with murder, but...

I hate when people try to act like they know me and they don’t. He kept trying to pretend he understood me because he wanted me to agree with his fucked up logic.

No. It was like... I’m not saying the others don’t manipulate people, but this was different. He kept, like, openly implying that he knew what I wanted better than I did, and acting like I was too stupid to see that he was right about it. Which he wasn’t.

[Which is a sore spot for her, for a few reasons.]

I told him murdering people is bad and he couldn’t handle it.

I'm not surprised a God of Cunning doesn't like being told that they're wrong.

This is why, when it comes to the gods, I mostly smile and nod regardless of what I think.

Well, not everyone can. At least, not without practice, and I doubt you'd be able to learn fast enough here.

Not the difficult people part as much as... feeling like you need to lie, or not say how you feel.

And like I said, I've dealt with more difficult people. When the other option is risking death, it stops being such a big deal.
