It was rough. Finding out all the killers were dead, and we'd have to condemn an innocent... that the gods decided to make the game like this of their own volition, when it didn't have to be this way... we learned a lot of shocking things today.
[ He sighs out. ]
We never figured out Ava's journal, either. And Piety...

I wonder what will happen to them, and to Ishikirimaru-san.
Yu will nod, quiet. He paces further into the room, going up to the ballet barre, leaning against it and staring into the mirrors that line the room. ]
[ Yu finds a single in the pile of CDs, and pulls it out. The title gets a truly wry smile out of him. With a hum of thought, he'll pop it into the stereo. ]
[She might not be on quite the same level he is, but there's a carefree joy to it. It's movement devoid of self consciousness, somehow, even if it's just the two of them. Maybe because it's just the two of them.
When he twirls her, there's a laugh that's light and bubbling. She doesn't resist the movement at all, and when it's over... Jokingly, as if in return, she moves forward to put a hand under his back and dip him down.]
It's not that anything is better, magically fixed, or that things will be better. It's that they've gotten out of an entire day of an extremely stressful situation, and they've got to have hope that things will work out. And they should smile, and laugh -- because they're alive, and there's hope. That's worth celebrating --
even if it's just the two of them celebrating it, stealing just one moment to feel like things could turn out alright.
She's pretty as she twirls, he thinks; there's something wonderful about watching the way her hair moves with her. What he's not expecting is when she takes the lead, tripping him back into a dip before he can even really process what's happening.
.... utterly despite himself, the tips of his ears turn pink.
Visibly flustered, if only a little bit, he'll huff a laugh once she pulls him back up. ]
You swept me off my feet ... literally. I might swoon.
[She shifts to make it easier for him to stand up straighter as the music starts to fade, her smile growing a little devious. That teasing tone is reflected in her voice as she speaks, too.]
I'll totally catch you if you do.
[Beyond the joking, there's... something like gratitude. She needed this, and she hopes it's helped him, too.]

[Which, to her, is much better than saying she's fine; anyone who says they're doing fine seems much too heartless to her.]
I'm sure you'll think of a better line for next time.

It sounded like he had a plan. Hopefully... He'll be okay.

Do you know how to dance, Zoe?
no subject
No, not really. Why?
no subject
Neither do I. It might be fun, to learn together.
[ translation: may I have this dance? ]

You know what, why not. They're letting us have music for the night, right?
no subject
Yeah. [ His voice is still soft. ] What kind of music should we put on, do you think?

[She accompanies him, bending slightly to see what selection they have.]

I'm game for anything.

Well, show me what you've got.

His body seems to know what to do, even if the boy himself is laughing. He'll move them both to the beat of the music, curling his hands through hers.
And cuz you know he's gotta:
Perfectly on beat he'll release one of her hands so he can use the other to twirl her. ]

Thanks, Zoe.

[Although, she has to laugh—]
Maybe next time we can pick a song that isn't about killing.

Can't argue with that.
