[It’s another lovely day in this area of eternal winter. Today, if Yu ventures far enough into the thicket, he’ll see Zoe crouched over the ominous hope in the ground, holding what seems to be a box of matches.
A distant kind of concern brought him back here; he hasn't been able to shake the thought of that voice he kept hearing from deep within. But that concern becomes more immediate when he sees Zoe with... matches? ]
Zoe-san?
[ Naturally he's approaching, trying not to look TOO worried by whatever is going on here. ]
After the vision ceases and she goes to speak to Justice, she comes back inside the temple, shedding the coat that appeared when she went outside. That's where she finds Yu, and she glances his way, huge fur monstrosity in hand.]
[ Unfortunately for the two of them, of course, with the end of the trial came the reinstatement of their curse. Once the trial was over, Yu found himself back in that hideous fucking coat.
If only that were the worst of their misfortunes, today.
He actually runs into her by accident; wandering through the temple, letting his feet take him where they will, he ends up passing the dance studio, pausing only when he realizes someone is in there. ]
Zoe?
[ He's got his curse-coat draped over an arm as he enters the room. That said, it'll get unceremoniously dumped on the floor near the door so he can ignore it.
Zoe, of course, gets a smile, a very crooked thing. ]
[She hasn't been using the studio to exercise or anything of the like; she's sitting cross legged, back propped against the wall as she looks up at the ceiling. That changes when Yu enters and addresses her, though, as she quickly stands up.]
Hey. [...] You were looking for me?
[There's some surprise in her expression as she asks that.]
Is that so surprising? [ Finding her here may have been chance, but it was a happy one; he had, actually, wanted to see her. ] The bond forged by the curse of ugly coats is an unbreakable one, I thought.
[ The west wing is a hell of a different beast this week. From a winter wonderland to a desert city... talk about a 180 degree turn. Still, after the cold and the forced jackets last week, it's a truly welcome change of pace. Yu explores at his leisure, eventually making it far north enough to reach the ocean.
That's where Zoe will find him. His shoes are carefully tucked up on the sand, out of the reach of the waves, and he's standing in the surf, pants cuffed to the knee. You might think he'd be a little chill, actually, between the ocean breeze and the fact that he's in a simple v-neck t-shirt, but he seems at his ease.
By now the sun is setting, and watching its rays glow gold on the water is entrancing. It's a beautiful sight. He's so absorbed in it, and in his thoughts, that he doesn't hear Zoe coming. ]
[She's in shorts and a tank top as she visits the ocean today. It's a beautiful sight, and all the more beautiful because of the relief that came this morning. As she walks towards the water, she calls out to Yu, a smile on her face.]
[When she comes to find him in the west wing after the announcement... It feels so much different than it did just a few days ago. Like every Friday since arriving here, there's a tight ball of anger amassing in her chest, and nothing seems to chip away at it.
As soon as she sees Yu, though, there's worry growing there in tandem with the frustration. Gently:]
[That's what stings in particular, and she's sure he can relate to that - he was trying harder than anyone to prevent something like this from happening again, she thinks.]
[This trial was emotionally exhausting for everyone, and she's not spared from that. More than concerned for herself, though, after seeing his reaction to the results... It's Yu she wants to talk to most of all.
When she finally sees him on the first floor, she doesn't hesitate before heading his way, sympathy clear in her expression and voice.]
[ He looks ... pinched. Very tired. It's just very clear he's probably been crying for a while, despite the fact that he's basically on emotional lockdown right now, utterly stoic.
[When Yu comes across her, she's in the courtyard. She can't claim to have been incredibly close with any of the victims... But it still feels strange not to at least come and pay some form of respect.
When she sees Yu, though, she turns abruptly towards him. It's not hard to hear the worry in her tone as she speaks.]
[Once the trial ends... After everything that happened, he's one of the first people she goes to seek out. It takes her a while to find him near the lake, but once she does, she approaches him.
There's silence for a while, and when she speaks, it's gentle.]
[ He'll find her in the inn Monday evening, since that's where most people are. He's been in high spirits most of the day, but by now he's ... a bit reserved again. Maybe it has something to do with the huge bruise on his face still in the process of purpling? What's up with that, anyway.
Actually, running into her is pure chance, but even so. He'll pause, and try half a smile, though it kind of hurts at the moment. ]
[Even if he seemed adamant about not talking about it too much yesterday, ever since Zoe discovered that he's going to be forced onto another team... She's been worried, of course. It's hard to imagine not being worried when she knows how much Love means to Yu.
That's why she seeks him out on Wednesday afternoon, offering a small wave and a brighter smile once she's found him.]
[ Yu's to be found at the inn this afternoon, staying in from the rain that's started coming down outside. He seems ... okay. Not as upset as yesterday, not happy like on Monday. Just ... you know, okay. ]
week two, thursday.
