I was actually gonna see if during trial this weekend, people would be willing to show me their coins. If we know they've never defected, they can't be the Ruin follower.

...The killer we didn't catch last week, the one that's still alive, has never defected from their god.

But - to have been able to leave that message on Aimi, they'd have to be from Ruin. And then Ruin doesn't have any followers anymore.

[She shakes her head.]

I finished Ambition's task and asked for a hint about who it was, and she told me their coin isn't tarnished at all.

[usogi]

So the former Ruin follower knew - and it was probably accomplices then.

We should still ask everyone to bring them so we can look. It could help narrow it down.

[A beat, and then:]

This probably goes without saying, but be really careful about who you tell this to.

The only people I tell things to are Shishimaru, Ishirin-san, Ray, and Sasuke.

Of those four, three of them have tarnished coins and the one that doesn't is someone I trust explicitly.

Are you going to tell Ray?

[requiemed]

[She nods.]

Yeah, he's the only other person I was planning on telling. I was planning on finding him soon.

.... has he told you who he suspected?

He told Shishimaru and Ishirin-san already - and Sasuke is cued in on a plan, even if he doesn't have the name.

It's fine if you want to wait for him to tell me himself, but I think he probably will.

Tell him that I'll be mad if he doesn't tell you - because what you told me just now is... really important for it.

Im gonna lie and pretend that I think that the person who hurt Fortune was a Ruin follower - so like we never talked. I think it'll be easier to get them to show their coin then, if they think they're cleared of suspicion if it's perfect.

When we were in the house in Cunning's wing, we learned some stuff about the next trial.

What did you find out?

Well, first off, we found out that Cunning has a... very unique sense of humor. To put it politely.

[But anyways.]

[She has to pause for a moment to remember just what was said, and after a few seconds:]

Facing a trial of limited time, seeking culprits of multiple crimes, finding out things aren't like they seem, and... Inspecting members of our own team.

Our own - so you think... that means someone from Cunning did something?

I don't know. Ray and Connor were there with me, too. Or it could mean team in a different way than faction. When I went to talk to Cunning afterwards, he said that the person we talked to was called the Oracle, and even though what they say is always true, it can have multiple meanings and isn't always obvious right away.

It was so fucking creepy, seriously. That was not even the weirdest part of the whole experience. I am never going in a locked house again.
